Reason 7: To Encounter Jesus

The seventh reason to love God's Word is to encounter Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

It is a great mystery, but a true one nonetheless:

God’s Word, the Bible, is Jesus in written form. Also, Jesus Christ is God’s Word in bodily form.

We read this in John 1:1:

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1:1 NKJV).

And then John 1:14 tells us even more: “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth” (John 1:14 NKJV).

In other words, God the Father took everything He had to say to mankind and presented those things for us to see in the Person of Jesus Christ. He also took the Person of Jesus and wrote Him down for us to read in the pages of the Bible.

Since the Word is Jesus and Jesus is the Word, how could we not love the sacred pages of Scripture?

My friend, do you love God's Word?

Do you really, truly love it? If not, ask the Lord to help you fall in love with the Scriptures. Ask Him to help you hunger and thirst after His Word. If you will ask, He will answer ... and He will transform your life more than ever before.
