Man of FireSample
Day 7: The Fire Of Discipleship
Just like you can light a candle with another candle, a man of fire sets other men on fire for God.
Men, we are not going to be here forever. God has an appointed time for all of us to go, but before we go we should train up others.
A man of fire is a man of influence.
Look for opportunities to pass on your knowledge of God and your passion to others, especially those of the younger generations. That way the Kingdom legacy can carry on to impact the world more in the future. This is critical and a requirement for fathers. If you have children, you have a responsibility to them to lead them to Jesus and raise them to follow Him. If you don’t have children of your own there are billions of fatherless kids all over the world who need a Godly man to look up to. Be that for them.
Elijah was a man of fire who showed how to disciple the next generation. When it was time for Elijah to go home to God, he had an understudy named Elisha. Elisha wanted a double portion of the Holy Spirit that Elijah had. Elijah gave him instructions on how to get it. Elisha listened and obeyed so after Elijah was taken in a chariot of fire, Elisha was able to do an identical miracle that Elijah had just done. The Bible records 14 miracles that Elijah performed, and 28 that Elisha performed. Elisha got the answer to his prayer! And the work of God multiplied in the next generation!
Pray about one person that you can disciple. Let them see that you are a man of fire, and watch the fire spread!
As we close this devotional I pray that God has lit or kindled a fire in you. This world is full of darkness. It is in desperate need of the light that will shine when you are full of God’s fire. You are called to be a man of fire. Get up and follow God onward to your destiny!
