On My Side By Kim Walker-SmithSample
Undone
Luke 22:41-42 He withdrew about a stone’s throw beyond them, knelt down and prayed. “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.”
I am completely undone by the love of a Father who would give up His son as a sacrifice for my sin. Jesus did not just carry the weight of my sin and mistakes, but He actually became sin upon the cross; one sacrifice, once and for all. But what is even more outrageous to me is that Jesus, being God, knew everything. He had me in His mind when He went to the cross. He knew the choices I would make and the sin I would allow in my life and He saw the moment I would surrender and give my life to Him.
He also saw the times in my life when I would reject Him. Not in the time before I knew Him, but knowing Him and all He did for me, there would still be moments I would reject Him. It’s the moments I would allow offense to separate us and I would withhold my heart from Him because of my pain, anger, my confusion, and demand for justice. He saw every one of those choices and He still went to the cross. He knew I would know better in those moments and still He chose to die for me. I am so undone. There is no greater love and no one more deserving of my heart than Jesus.
