I don’t know if you’ve spent much time recently thinking about how you were made. But have you ever really considered that what started as one small cell grew and multiplied to be the incredibly complex body which you inhabit today?!

Your anatomy has such intricate systems of blood flow, neural pathways, and skeletal structures. You are able to experience so many wonderful things through the senses of hearing, sight, smell, taste, and/or touch. And even if you are lamenting some way in which your body does not work the way you wish it would, you can still marvel at the miracle of the way you are “knit together.”

Beyond your physical frame, God perfectly designed your mind and your emotions, too! He may have given you a brain bent toward numbers or a love for words. He may have created you to make music or to build cars. He may have gifted you with the energy of an extrovert who can walk into a room and take the stage, or He may have imbued you with a gentle spirit that sees the person sitting alone in the corner.

However He has designed you, I encourage you to praise Him today! God made you uniquely you. You are His creation—and His workmanship is marvelous. Have no doubt about that!

Reflect, Pray, and Celebrate Your Birthday!

Take a look out your window. Observe five things in creation that are wonderful and, if you have a pen and paper, write them down. Then remember that the same God who created the thundering ocean and the delicate butterfly also created you.

Now write down five things about who YOU are that are marvelous—and thank God for those traits. (Consider your body, mind, and personality.)
