Growing Our Church Family Part 3Sample

Growing Our Church Family Part 3

DAY 3 OF 5

FELLOWSHIP OF BELIEVERS

Have you ever been a part of something alongside others that when you get together the excitement and passion is almost an audible buzz you can hear in the room? It’s easy to imagine that’s exactly what is happening in the early church in the book of Acts. The excitement and awe of their faith. The tangible signs of the Holy Spirit right before their eyes. Together they’re experiencing and living out their faith. And watching more and more people decide to follow Jesus.

The early church went from believing in Christ as their Savior to, “And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need.” They took the step from believing to belonging. The community they found in each other made than want to do more and to be more. It wasn’t good enough anymore to just believe in who Jesus is and what he’d called them to do. They began to live it out in a radical way.

In order to live the Christian life effectively we need the loving support of other people.

Ask Yourself:

-How can I feel that I am together with my church “family”?

-What steps do I need to take to, “have all things in common”, with the believers around me?

Pause to Pray for the Church: Pause to praise God for His good plan- the Church. Take a moment to confess that the Church hasn’t always followed the example of Jesus. Pray that we see all believers as family and that we are inspired by the Holy Spirit to meet the needs of others.

Take a Next Step into Christian community: Find a ministry that interests you and ask to shadow or volunteer. Or look into the mentor and small group options at your local church.
