4 Principles of Wisdom From King SolomonSample

4 Principles of Wisdom From King Solomon

DAY 2 OF 4

How did King Solomon's heart manifest itself in the first days of receiving this gift of wisdom received by God in a dream? Let's take a look together.

1. He worships God first.
2. He honors those around him.

"Then Solomon awoke; and indeed it had been a dream. And he came to Jerusalem and stood before the ark of the covenant of theLord, offered up burnt offerings, offered peace offerings, and made a feast for all his servants." (1 Kings 3:15)

The second act Solomon performed after receiving divine wisdom in a dream was that he gave a feast and invited the people working for him. Divine wisdom will always drive us to honor the people around us.

The second principle of wisdom is one of leadership. Divine wisdom doesn't drive us to be loners or away from the people around us. Rather, it creates in us the desire to honor those who work with us. Divine wisdom loves to celebrate others!

"Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others." (Philippians 2:3-40

When God fills us with his divine wisdom, we open our eyes and realize that we need others, because we recognize that God has given to every person around us a measure of wisdom, maturity, experience, gifts and talents that we don't have. This wisdom drives us to learn from them and honor them. Godly wisdom will always prompt us to look at the interests and qualities of others around us.
