Finding True PeaceSample

Where does peace come from?
Have you ever longed for someone to speak peace over your life? We hear things like, “Have a great day!” or “Happy Friday!” But has anyone ever said to you, “May the Lord give you his peace”?
It makes me wonder what it might feel like to specifically speak peace into other people’s lives. “I hope you have a peaceful weekend,” we might say. Or even, “May peace fill your home this month.”
I think I would like it, this kind of speech over me, the kind of words that remind me of God’s peace, God’s desire for peace, for me. What a blessing it would be to hear! And what a gift to lift someone’s day with a word of peace.
Act
Make a list of new ways to greet people and send them off that include the word peace. Try them out!
Pray
God, I know our words have more weight than we know. Help me speak peace over others as I invite your peace into my life. Amen.

About this Plan

If there is one thing this world never offers us, it’s lasting peace. The peace you need, the kind that’s lasting and deep and eternal, is only available by believing in Jesus who died on the cross to bring us close to God. In him you'll find true, lasting, perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3).
