What to Do if You Are Disappointed with God?

DAY 8 OF 9

Sharing What You Learned

And they rose that same hour and returned to Jerusalem. And they found the eleven and those who were with them gathered together […] Then they told what had happened on the road, and how He was known to them in the breaking of the bread.” (Luke 24:33-35)

When the disciples recognized Jesus, He vanished from their eyes. By that time, it must have been dark (see Luke 24:29). But they did not hesitate to walk the seven miles back to Jerusalem to share their experiences with the rest of Jesus’ followers! Their hearts were burning within them, and they couldn’t keep quiet about this wonderful news.

In turn, the other disciples shared that the Lord had also appeared to Simon. He had risen indeed!

When they were still talking about these things, Jesus appeared in their midst. He opened the minds of all the disciples present “to understand the Scriptures”. Then He told them: “You are witnesses of these things” (Luke 24:48). They would be covered by the power of God, and then spread the Gospel in all the world.

Jesus did not ask His disciples for the impossible. He just commissioned them to share what they had seen and heard, in His power. And so, they did! As the apostle John writes, “That which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, so that you too may have fellowship with us” (1 John 1:3).

Isn’t it amazing that this message has reached us as well, about 2,000 years later? How does it impact you? Do you pass on the good news?
