If you visit the CIA office in Langley, Virginia, you'll see a huge statue called the Kryptos. It was created in 1990 with four secret codes written on it. Code crackers and language experts from all over the world have dedicated their life to cracking the codes and seeing what's actually written on Kryptos. So far, they've managed to interpret three of the four codes. But the last one is still a mystery. Nobody can figure out what it actually says.

Does it ever seem like God is communicating in code? Some parts of the Bible are confusing, almost like they're written in another language. And when you ask God for help, the answers don't always make sense — if you get any answers at all. Why can't God just write it all out in the sky? Wouldn't that be easier for everyone?

The disciples felt the same way. They wondered why Jesus didn't just snap his fingers and fix everything around them. The Israelites wondered why God didn't just swoop them all up in a big cloud and drop them into the promised land.

Jesus finally gave the disciples a little push in the right direction. He told them to knock, and the door will open. He told them to seek, and they'll find what they're looking for.

Sometimes the reason we don't have answers to our questions is simple: We haven't actually asked God. The answer may not be straightforward, but the first step is to ask.
