A Biblical Life Hack to Make Giving Easier (& More Fun)Sample
Like we discussed yesterday, when you have funds set aside and ready for giving, it changes your outlook. You are empowered to look for opportunities where God might lead you to make a difference. It becomes an adventurous and fulfilling journey. This systematic approach makes giving not only intentional but also exciting and impactful.
Furthermore, being an efficient steward of your resources and engaging in joyful giving often leads to an abundance mindset. As we make the most of what we've been entrusted with, it's as if God begins to entrust us with more like Luke 16:10 points out.
Practical application
So if you want to apply this concept to your giving, I recommend opening a separate bank account specifically used for the purpose of giving.
And just like Paul suggests, at the beginning of each month or week, based on the percentage or amount you've decided to give, move that sum into the separate account.
We affectionately call this our "Seed account" because we choose to look at every act of generosity as planting seeds.
And simply by creating a separate budget category (and ideally a separate bank account), you put the structure in place to be a cheerful giver.
We use the 'Real Money method' approach to our budgeting and this works perfectly with that method, but it doesn't matter what method you use, the goal is simply to do what Paul instructs by "setting money aside" for giving on a regular basis.
I believe the reason this works so well and transforms how we view giving is because it puts us on the offensive.
When you set it aside, you are now actively looking and seeking out the opportunities to give. Meanwhile, what most people do is see the opportunity to give and then feel like they don't have the money available. Which in turn just causes anxiety around giving, rather than joy.
Alright, that's enough explaining of why, and now it is time for you to try it out yourself. Because that's when you really will become convinced that this is a game-changer!
So in conclusion, by setting aside your giving funds, you are not only obeying the scriptures but also empowering yourself for a joyful and fulfilling giving experience. Don't underestimate the power of a little practical shift like this, they are sometimes the most transformative.
