Stressed OutSample
Jesus spent a good amount of His time here on Earth telling us not to spend our brain space worrying. He would know—He lives with His Father, He knows the resources of Heaven, and He knows how His Father is sovereign over absolutely everything on earth. In this message to us, Jesus talked about how we worry about the daily needs of life, like our food and our clothes. Then He shared something interesting:“Do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things” (Matthew 6:31-32).
He tells us not to be concerned about the daily needs of life because the “pagans” are. In other words, our view of reality should be different because our reality is different. We are God’s children, our Father is in charge of everything. We aren’t responsible to run after our daily needs, we have a good Father who knows what we need and will take care of us. When we worry about our daily needs, we’re acting like orphans or even children who have a neglectful parent. But we have a good Father, a good God. When our needs meet our limited resources, it’s an opportunity to see God at work.

About this Plan
Most of us feel stressed out. A lot of us have been pushed to our mental, emotional, and physical limits. So much of life is bigger than we are—it’s out of our control. Life can leave us feeling helpless and weighed down. But being stressed out is not how God wants us to live. We’ll look at what God wants us to do with the stress we feel.
