That is a very good question!

In the Bible, God is referred to as “He.”

He is God the Father (male parent), God the Son (male child), and God the Holy Spirit. God cares and provides for all his children, like a good father tries to do. Read the verses from John’s Gospel.

There are some parts of the Bible which tell us God is also like a really good mother! Read the verse from Luke’s Gospel. Jesus talked about looking after his people like a mother hen looks after her chicks.

Both males and females are made in God’s image and are similar to God in lots of ways. (Read the verse from Genesis.) God is quite different from human men and women. God isn’t human at all! God is God!
