#Thankful (Philippe Sternbauer)
Have you ever caught yourself secretly being pleased at someone else’s failure? Or comparing yourself to someone else and finding, to your pleasure, that you’ve been more successful than they are?
We live in a society of measurement and comparison. Who earns more? Who was more successful? Who has more followers or likes on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.?
Competition stimulates business – yet for us personally the constant comparison leads to a dead end: either I become proud or I begin to feel inferior. Neither is a good option!
The best thing is to go against this trend by starting to discover strengths, gifts and passions in others and expressing what we find.
This provides us with new reasons to be pleased on a daily basis and to make someone else’s day, creating a culture of mutual honor, respect, and appreciation.
Who would not like to be at home in such a setting? Today, let us start to shape our lives in such a way!
Actionstep:
Today, compliment five people in your surrounding on something you appreciate about them. Do this personally, not via text message, as otherwise you will miss their expression and reaction to what you have said.
