Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

We all know that God’s plans for our lives are the best, and personally, there are times I feel in step with God, in tune with the Holy Spirit, and feel I am following the gentle guide that comes with that. It’s a wonderful experience. On other occasions, and that’s much of the time if I’m honest, I feel as though I’m living and responding in my own strength as distractions and worry builds from all life brings my way.

In Hannah’s poem inspired by this theme, I love the line ‘Make your home in the ruins of who I thought I should be and rebuild me again. There’s that sense that most of us make our own plans but there comes a point where we need to let go and trust God, for him to rebuild and repair shaping us into who we were meant to be - a reflection of God and his Kingdom here on earth.

I invite you now to read Hannah’s poem and then, before watching the video, spend 2 minutes reflecting on what it might mean for God’s kingdom to come in your life. Invite him to rebuild you in the areas that have become places of ruin.

Rebuild Me Again

The future feels unknown

Like headlights on a dark night

I can only see the few steps in front of me.

Hidden from the bigger picture,

You are teaching me to embrace the

Uncertainty like an old familiar friend.

The words surprise me as I see my hands let go of control

"You can lead this one,

Your way not mine.' I whisper

.

I desire to make you my greatest

And truest reality

Invading my humanity like a shock to the system that

resets everything.

Come and be here,

Make my life a mirror to yours

My closest friend,

My brother

My father

My mother

Make your home in the ruins of who I thought I should be

And rebuild me again
