God Is Bigger: When God Makes BIG Problems Small a 3 -Day Plan by Kerry-Ann LewisSample
Lord Help Me See
As I sat in the ophthalmologist’s office I was scared. Earlier that morning, I had seen a light and floaters in the corner of my left eye. I was afraid for my sight. But while waiting to re-enter her office for the results of a test, the Lord said clearly: “What does my Word say?” As I began to recite His Word over my situation, a peace came over me. No matter what happened I knew I would be alright. When God became my focus, my problem wasn’t as intimidating as it had appeared!
In 2 Kings 6:8-23, the king of Syria was concerned that someone was revealing his strategies to the king of Israel. That someone was Elisha, a prophet of Israel. He found out where Elisha was staying and sent a great army to take him. The following morning, Elisha’s servant saw a great army surrounding the entire city and he became afraid. Elisha asked God to open his servant’s eyes and he saw that the mountain was filled with horses and chariots of fire all around them.
Let’s face it, we too would have responded in the same way that Elisha’s servant did. What is interesting is how the devil magnified the problem. The army was sent to intimidate Elisha but Elisha knew that they were but a small thing in comparison to his God and he was not at all afraid. He was at peace because he chose to keep his focus on his God and was able to see a God who is bigger than the biggest problem right in front of him. God was surrounding what was surrounding him so he was covered!
Maybe like Elisha, we need to ask God to help us see, not the problem and how big it seems, but our God and how big He is. Because Elisha saw God in their midst, he was able to take authority over the situation instead of the situation taking authority over him!
Once again our focus is important. Once our eyes are on our God instead of on that intimidating situation, fear has to flee. We can then take authority - the authority that God has given us over all the power of the enemy - and nothing and no one will be able to triumph over us!
Prayer
Father and God, we bring that larger than life situation before You today. Lord it seems and feels so overwhelming. Remind us of Your promises and teach us to stand on Your Word and to trust that You will see us through. Thank You for doing it Lord, in Jesus name. Amen.

About this Plan
No matter the size of our problems, the devil tends to magnify them, making them appear bigger than they really are. This three-day devotional by Kerry-Ann Lewis discusses how “big” problems are reduced when God becomes our focus. It is a reminder that things aren’t always what they seem, and, when God is our focus, we can successfully navigate the challenges that come our way.
