Juggling LifeSample
When God Interrupts Your Interruptions
Do you ever wake up in the morning with a plan for exactly how you want your day to go? Inevitably it seems like there's always an interruption, a distraction, or a disruption, and that's where the challenge, or juggling, begins. It's where one unforeseen, unplanned circumstance becomes two, then two becomes three, and you find yourself in that place of weariness and exhaustion. It’s so easy at that point to let depression set in when nothing we wanted to happen is happening, and our day doesn’t even come close to resembling the plans we had for it.
Proverbs 19:21 NIRV says, "A person may have many plans in their heart. But the Lord’s purpose wins out in the end.” Perhaps the simple lesson we should learn from this is that we should start the day getting His plan instead of the common culture of today's society, which is to be wrapped up in their own agenda.
Did you know the Father will interrupt the interruptions of your life, and He does it to put you back on track? There are some amazing examples in God’s word where we find Him interrupting his children. When God told Jonah to go to Nineveh, Jonah went in the opposite direction, and that's when God not only interrupted Jonah's plan, he redirected him back to where He wanted him to be. Jonah's plan was contrary to God's, but just like Proverbs 19:21 told us, the Lord's purpose wins out in the end.
It's so beneficial for the children of God to go with the flow from the beginning instead of trying to row against the flow, where they burn themselves out.
Going with the flow means looking to Jesus, the Author and finisher of our faith. When you’re intentional about hearing the voice of the Spirit instead of your flesh, you become much more aware of the Father’s interruptions. We read in Proverbs 16:3 (NLT), “Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed.” This verse alone is such a key to victorious living.
Reflection: As redundant as it may seem, the first action you should commit yourself to every morning is this; to find out what HIS plan, purpose, and will are for that day. You see, that's when "your plans succeed,” and it’s because you allowed His plans to become yours. You chose to have His purpose prevail in your life!
