Sword of the Spirit

Living a life of faith is not passive. Many times, we need to not only stand firm but to be ready to fight against the darkness in the world.

God gives us the best tool to fight the things that come against us. It isn’t a weapon we need to fashion or figure out. We simply need to take hold of the Sword of the Spirit, also known as the Word of God.

This does not mean that we use the Word of God to harm people. The living Word of God, full of His Spirit is not meant to cause others pain or to lift ourselves up. Instead, we are to be led by the Spirit in the Word to battle against darkness.

God’s Word is full of power and authority. He gives your family the ability to use this for His honor.

Lord, help my family know Your Word and be confident in the power it holds. May we take up the sword of Your Spirit as you tell us to and use it for your honor and glory. Amen
