He IsSample
Something changes when someone knows your name. It may feel like such a small thing, but knowing someone’s name is the first step in truly knowing who they are. Think about it, how does it feel when an acquaintance, or even someone you’ve met a few times before, doesn’t remember your name? Or if someone introduces themselves but doesn’t take the time to ask your name in return? It may make us feel we aren’t worth their time, aren’t important enough for someone to remember, or haven’t made a good impression on the other person. But the exact opposite can be true when someone takes the time to remember our name. We may feel more seen and known; another person recognizes our value.
Now here’s something amazing—God knows your name. Not only your name, but He knows everything about you. He’s watched over you your whole life and has been right there through the good and not-so-good times. He’s not a God who stays at a distance but has an active role in our everyday lives. As you pray this week, remember that God not only knows you but also wants you to share your life with Him. What are some things you want to tell Him? What things about yourself do you want to share?

About this Plan
Getting to know someone takes time. It’s the same with our relationship with God. God doesn’t just want us to know facts about Him or only speak to Him through prayers sporadically said throughout our lives. God wants us to have a relationship with Him based on us knowing who He is. We will walk together through Scriptures that are filled with descriptions of God’s attributes and promises to help us know Him more.
