Who Am I

DAY 10 OF 20

For some reason, with some people, God has a boring reputation. He’s perceived as uptight, stiff, boring, and after little more than our blind obedience. Here, James’ words can help debunk this false belief about who God is. He tells us one of the most beautiful realities of our world: If it’s good, it’s from God. Every single good thing we have in this life—our families, our friends, our homes, our very breath—it all comes from God. And more than that, every part of who we are is made by God. That means the lives we live and the people we are. Well, they’re both good and perfect gifts from the God who loves us. When you’re tempted to believe that God wants any less than good for us, let James’ words remind you of what’s true: Every good and perfect thing about who we are is from God Himself.

One of the most beautiful ways to connect with God’s presence on this great adventure is to turn to Him when you experience something you love. So, consider the things you love in this life. What are your good and perfect gifts? Thank God for each one as a reminder of all He has given you in this life.
