The Parent's Battle PlanSample
Faith and an Enemy
Every mission has a battle plan, so if our personal mission is to win the spiritual war over our children’s lives, then we must have faith. Faith gives us courage to do battle. Faith is the hope that God will give us victory even when we cannot see how it will be won. Faith is the anchor that keeps us tied to God inside the raging storms. All of this is found in our personal search for God and in His presence. Faith is found when we seek God with all our hearts.
We can also begin to connect with others to build our faith and do life together. This faith is the key to knowing that God will equip and empower us—no matter how big the battle we are facing. We know that there are others who came before us who exhibited this type of belief. Noah, for example, believed an unseen warning and ignored the fear of man’s ridicule as he built the ark that saved his family, and Abraham believed in an unseen land and a promise from God that he would be the father of nations. We should strive to develop the level of faith that has been demonstrated in their stories.
Conversely, Satan is the devil who opposes God. He can be called the “evil one.” He is described as being more crafty than any other beast of the field that God had made. God threw this defiant angel to earth with his followers—where the war against good and evil began.
The good news is that, as hard as he might try to turn the tide by interfering with our lives, Satan has already been defeated. Jesus Christ died on a cross and gave all of us eternal victory over Satan. The devil has never been a match for our Savior, Jesus Christ, and he never will be. Satan has no power over us on an eternal scale; however, that does not stop him from engaging in a battle over our lives through spiritual warfare.
Jesus came to give us everything we need to win the war. When we truly believe that God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow—meaning He is a God who does not change—then our faith takes on a massive potential to grow. God really can do the impossible!
About this Plan
There is nothing more important than the success of our family, particularly our children. We are in a war, but not with our teens and young adults. There is a darkness in the world that is enticing our children to step into paths of destruction. The good news is that there are strategies to win back our children. Join us to develop a battle plan!
