Discover Jesus as the Standard for MasculinitySample
Day 4 Jesus Knows His Identity
Jesus knows who He is and what He is called to do. When He enters His public ministry, He chooses to read Isaiah's prophecy. This details the character, mission, and attributes of the Messiah. Jesus embraces His identity by announcing the prophecy's fulfillment; this was a dangerous proposition in His hometown of Nazareth (Isaiah 61:1-3).
Jesus is not driven by ego and opposes the proud; He exercises meekness and values humility. He does not suffer from false humility or an identity crisis. Jesus accepts who He is; He is strong, clear, and confident about His identity.
Many men suffer from an identity crisis, and there is a battle daily. You will never function in your assignment if you are insecure in your identity. If Jesus acted this way, He would be incapable of His mission. Three significant lies will attack us on the way to our destiny. You must recognize these conditions and deal with them immediately. They are:
Insecurity: Not being secure in who God says you are.
Pride and Ego: Overestimating your ability and achievements.
False Humility: Underestimating your identity by comparing yourself to others.
- On a scale of 1-7, how sure are you of your identity? How can you raise your rating?
- How do you exhibit false humility or pride about what God calls you to accomplish?
