The great paradox of the Gospel is that the Kingdom of God has come near, and it is still coming soon. Jesus teaches us to pray, “Your Kingdom come, Your will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven.” How are we, as followers of Jesus, supposed to help build His Kingdom on Earth as it is in Heaven?
Scripture outlines how we are called to bring Heaven to Earth, but it is up to us to obey that call. “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you” (Matt. 28:19-20). We are called to go. We were not created to be stagnant beings but instead people who follow the call of the Great Commission! We have been told to go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation, but how does this look practically?
Take the Great Commission day by day. Every day you wake up with breath in your lungs, there is an opportunity to spread the Good News. Sometimes it can be difficult to imagine our mission field as the grocery store or a coffee shop, but oftentimes, that is the opportunity the Lord presents to us! Since we know the Earth is not our home and our time here is so temporary, we must take every moment and spend it wisely! This is an opportunity to build the kingdom of God on earth.
It doesn’t need to stop at evangelism. There are so many ways to be part of the Kingdom on this side of eternity. We can serve others with our time and our resources. We can learn to love others reflective of how Christ loved us. The Holy Spirit has equipped us to build up disciples, so what is stopping us? What stops us from living a life of obedience where the Kingdom is actively being built on Earth?

About this Plan
Home can mean different things to different people. For followers of Jesus, this world is not our home. Over these next four days, we will be exploring what it means to live as citizens of Heaven here on earth, preparing for the coming of our King.
