A Language Others Understand

Have you been in a setting where people used terminology you could not understand? This can often happen when company insiders use terms and phrases amongst each other. Uninvolved people cannot understand. The same thing can be true when interacting with others about spiritual things. JESUS REVOLUTION tells a story of transition. The church of the 1970s had to learn the new language of the hippie movement. This video gives an idea of what that looked like.

How often have you found yourself in a place where you needed to adjust to understand? Is the new shag carpet more important than people with dirty, bare feet? Rather than send people away because they do not fit in, Pastor Smith did the unexpected. He washed their feet!

How well do you do at understanding the language of others? Do you force them to understand your vocabulary? We must find ways to speak their language, especially when it is the universal language of love.
