DAY 3 OF 5

Day Three – Living a Life of Peace & Patience

Did you know that Jesus wants us to be peacemakers? Yep! In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus taught, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God.” As Kingdom kids, when you and I live a life of peace, we show in action that we are truly children of the Lord. And no doubt, sometimes it’s hard to be peacemakers, yet Scripture also tells us in Romans 12:18, “Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone.”

I also want to add here that the Holy Spirit who dwells within us will grant us peace when we need it in times of anxiety, fear, doubt, and uncertainty. The Lord promises to give us peace that surpasses all understanding when we trust in Him. Philippians 4:7 confirms this truth. It instructs us not to worry about anything; instead pray about everything and tell God what we need. It also encourages us to thank Him for all He has done.

Now for a brief moment, let’s talk about living out the fruit of patience. Whew! Most of us know that being patient is not always easy. Yet, it can be done. The term “patience” means the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, trouble, or suffering without getting angry or upset. Ouch!

But again, we can do this with the help of the Holy Spirit. Remember, He will produce this type of fruit in our lives. So the next time you’re feeling impatient, I want to encourage you to pause, pray, and ask the Holy Spirit to help you. Also, feel free to cry out to God when you feel weak or broken and need patience to endure whatever test or trial you're facing. And here's a quick tip - while you wait on the Lord to answer your prayers, try waiting without getting angry with Him, because He will act.

And here's the thing. It's totally okay to be honest with Him. He's listening. He knows exactly how you feel and where you are. So, allow the Holy Spirit to bless you with supernatural peace, while you wait patiently in the midst of any circumstance. God is with you in the quiet.
