Feeling Stuck?

DAY 5 OF 6

Experience G.R.A.C.E.

Jesus hung on the cross between two thieves. One mocked, while the other sought mercy from a King. He asked Jesus to remember him when He entered His Kingdom. Remarkably, Jesus promised not only to remember him but to bring him along to Heaven!

Now let me ask you, what did that second thief do to earn his spot in paradise?

What good works did he perform? How much money did he donate to charity? How many church services did he attend? How many orphanages did he build? How many Bible studies did he lead?

Obviously, he did none of these things because he was nailed to a cross! He was utterly powerless to do anything to earn salvation. This is the perfect picture of our position when we come to Jesus. We’re only capable of one thing: receiving the gift of grace.

Someone once explained grace to me as God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense.

On the cross, Jesus exchanged Heaven’s riches for our spiritual poverty. It was a marvelous exchange. And as Paul wrote in Ephesians 2:8–9: For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

Like the thief on the cross, God’s grace is free, and it is for you. No matter what you’ve done or said, God’s grace is bigger than your guilt.

So, what does it mean to be okay with God?Take three simple steps: see your need, know Jesus as Savior, and experience His grace.

As you engage with God’s Word:

● How have I personally experienced God’s grace?

● What is God saying to me?

● How can I apply what God is teaching me?

● How can I be specific in prayer today?
