Love God Greatly - Walking in WisdomSample

SOAP – Proverbs 2:6
Obtaining the wisdom of God requires diligence and the willingness to seek after it. Believers should be willing to listen for wisdom, to have an open heart to receive, and to pray and ask for spiritual discernment. Knowing God and His Word requires time and energy, but He is worth it. Those who encounter Jesus in the Bible discover His deep love and steadfast commitment.
What is your plan for increasing your spiritual knowledge? What changes in your attitude and behavior are necessary to continue diligently seeking after God? When believers eagerly seek God’s wisdom through hearing God’s Word, meditation through Bible study, and prayer, we can be sure to find it.
Father God, I thank You for revealing Yourself through Your Word. Help me to rely on the Bible as my sole source of wisdom. I thank You for Your Word that answers my deepest needs and brings self-understanding. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

About this Plan

This study points to a topical look at Proverbs and the key themes of wisdom in our speech, our relationships, our work and wealth, and in the face of temptation. Trust in the Lord instead of your own understanding is where the book of Proverbs ultimately leads us. God is the source of all wisdom, He uses these proverbs to show us the path that leads to wisdom, and He reveals to us the fruit of walking in this great wisdom… so that our trust is ultimately not in our floundering ways, but can be found securely in Him.
