Refresh: 21 Days of Prayer & FastingSample
1 Samuel 17:23 (NLT) “Goliath, the Philistine champion from Gath, came out from the Philistine ranks. Then David heard him shout his usual taunt to the army of Israel.”
How many of you know the enemy has a "usual taunt?” And according to the book of Revelation, he’s also called the "accuser of the brethren” . His taunts and accusations are meant to bully you, lie to you, steal from you and ultimately get you off track from the Father’s path and direction for your life.
So why do you think he (our enemy) keeps saying the same thing over and over? Transparently? Because what he's been saying has been working. Let me give you a few examples… Have you ever heard him tell you that "you’re unworthy, undeserving” or maybe you’ve heard "if you were really a child of God, you wouldn't have done that?" Maybe you've heard this: "you've run out of grace, there is a line and you crossed it” Whatever he’s said, it’ll be shame based, condemning, joy killing and life stealing.
Remember, Jesus said that he (satan) is the father/originator of all lies. Just knowing that should cheer many of you up and bring a refreshing to your soul. Why? Well, if the enemy is telling you that you are unworthy, then the truth is — you are worthy. If he's telling you, you're going to die — the truth is you're going to live! Whatever he's been telling you, know that the opposite is true!
God’s amazing flip side is found in Titus 1:2; it says "that it's impossible for God to lie." Since that’s the case, when you hear that God loves you unconditionally, then you can rest assured that His love for you has no conditions. When you find out that all your sins have been paid for and forgiven, then they have! When His word says, I am the Lord that heals you, meets all your needs, comforts you, protects you, leads & guides you — then you can know for a certainty that He is all those things to you and much more!
Reflection: Today’s a wonderful day to recognize who you’re listening to, and knowing that can make all the difference in the everyday outcome of our life. Remember, your loving Heavenly Father isn’t just interested in the big issues of your life, but every small one as well!
