Worthy of the Pursuit

DAY 1 OF 7

As we are living in days of uncertainty, it’s refreshing to consider that we have a God who will not only see us through our troubled times, but also gives us the power to handle anything that comes our way.

Anxiety, depression, and mental health are major dilemmas in today’s society. It doesn’t matter who you are, we can all fall prey to these kinds of emotions.

The apostle Paul encourages us to not be anxious about anything but instead to be prayerful. It’s easier said than done to be told not to worry or be anxious. However, we must set in our spirit that praying about everything is the key to having a victorious life in Christ.

By nature, we know how to worry, and feel overwhelmed. We know how to go into panic mode, how to lose sleep, and how to run away from trials. However, developing a daily habit of prayer and fasting will empower us to overcome and give us a peace that passes understanding.

"The peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6)

Prayer and fasting can lead us to a life of victory over anxiety and the rollercoaster of emotions.

Begin this week by setting your mind and heart to pray and fast. Believe God for answered prayers and a new peace in your life. Take this time of fasting and prayer to pursue the Lord.

God is worthy of the pursuit.

Pray today:

Pray for personal peace.

Pray for a deeper desire to be a person of prayer.

Pray that the Lord will honor your fasting and prayer.

Pray for victory.

Day 2

About this Plan

Worthy of the Pursuit

As we are currently living in days of uncertainty, God, through His Holy Spirit continues to impress upon His Church to seek Him. We do this through both prayer and fasting. This seven-day devotional was written to assist you in developing a healthy spiritual habit of seeking the Lord through prayer and fasting. These two go hand-in-hand. Prayer and fasting are not rituals or acts to impress God; these are the two most powerful things we can do to connect with the Lord on a more intimate level. This devotional can either be another source for reading or can be the avenue to help you develop a deeper and stronger prayer life.
