40 Days of Prayer & Fasting

DAY 35 OF 40

Power in Weakness

Many of us spend years running from and avoiding parts of ourselves that we see as weakness. You might be good at spotting your weaknesses, but when it comes to sharing those things with others, we can tend to withdraw and not let others in on the truth about ourselves. How many of us do this same thing with God? We let Him in just enough to deal with the things we’re comfortable with. But when it comes to the sin, addictions, pains, unforgiveness, and real things we actually need to let go of, we’re unwilling to. This is often because letting go of those things means letting yourself become weak and admitting how much you need God in your life. The enemy wants to tempt us to believe the lie that weakness is something that should be avoided at all costs. But in the Kingdom of God, your weakness is key to God’s power resting in your life. When you finally stop resisting weakness, God’s power will be made perfect. Are you willing to get to the end of yourself in order to see the power of God in your life? Humble yourself and be willing to be broken for His name’s sake, so that God’s power will be made known through your life.

Prayer: God, I thank You for my weaknesses. Would You reveal any weaknesses in me that I do not see? I want my life to reflect Your power. God, I pray that it would be easy for Your power to be seen in my life. Show me what it looks like to reach the end of myself. I trust You! In Jesus’s name, amen.

About this Plan

40 Days of Prayer & Fasting

Fasting is a spiritual discipline that calls us to deny the desires of our flesh and fill ourselves up with God, His Word, and His presence. Over the next 40 days, we will grow in intimacy with God, position ourselves to be in His perfect will, and learn about His dunamis power in our daily personal encounters.
