2 Corinthians

DAY 80 OF 91

Looking at the second section of this chapter, Paul talks about his biggest weakness, his thorn in the flesh. We can see in verse eight that his immediate response was to submit to the Lord in prayer. But not just any type of prayer, persistent prayer. Paul immediately exemplifies his own teachings that are seen in Philippians 4:6.

Not only do we see this example of persistent prayer in Paul’s life, but it can also be seen in the life of Jesus. In Mark 14, in the garden of Gethsemane, one of the most desperate and hard moments in His life, Jesus exemplifies for all of us that the immediate response to suffering is to sit at the feet of the Father. Even Jesus, like Paul, pleads with God three times.

When in Suffering or desperation, what are your immediate responses?

About this Plan

2 Corinthians

We are going through the book of 2 Corinthians together! We will be reading one chapter every week as we usually do, but this time we have also included devotions and other passages to read on certain days. We hope you will follow along with us as we deep dive into Paul's second letter to the church in Corinth and seek to see what we can learn from it today as we seek to follow Jesus together.
