Titus is mentioned again and was last mentioned in chapter 2. From then til now was a rabbit trail led by the spirit, Guzik quotes “containing some of the richest treasure of the New Testament.”

Paul assures the church in Corinth that Titus heard of their repentance; he loved them more than ever. Paul was always careful to hold the balance between relationship and ministry.

We believe that ministry is so communal and relationship based with people. Optimism is one of the five values, and Paul exhibits this with his Godly optimism that even though his words were severe to the Corinthians before, they were all rooted in love and grace and pursuit to see them living holy and set apart for God. Believing this and trusting the Lord, he was so relieved by Titus’s report that even though it was tough at times God had done a work in the Corinthians that only He could do and Titus and Paul got to be beautiful instruments in it all by being bold to love them well and minister to them fully.
