Precious Moments That Count For EternitySample
Worth More Than a Million Canaries
One Friday morning, when I was in the sixth grade, I was on my way to school. As I reached the bus stop, I realized that I’d missed the bus! It was a hot day, I had an assessment and I was really nervous. My heart started beating very fast. I ran down the other side of the lane to catch the bus. Running really fast with a heavy bag on my shoulders, I was panting and I was dizzy. By the time I reached the next bus stop, the bus had left. I screamed but no one stopped to help. Just then, a passer-by stopped and told me not to worry. He put 20 rupees in my hand, called an auto rickshaw, and told the driver to follow the bus.
This reminded me of the story of Elijah. When a drought was coming to his land, God told him to leave. God showed him where to go and also provided him with food. He was well taken care of. The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning and in the evening, and he drank water from the brook.
Everyday, God cares and watches out for us. He values us more than the birds of the air; takes care of every detail and He has numbered the hairs on our heads. As His treasured children, we do not have to worry. He can send us help or provide for us through ravens or strangers we’ve never met. He concerns Himself with all the problems we go through. Wherever you go, remember, He esteems you over all creation and He will carry you through. So don’t worry about anything!
Prayer
Father God, I thank You for Your care for me, down to the last detail. Let me never worry or be anxious about anything, whether big or small in my life. Amen.
