Precious Moments That Count For EternitySample
Heart Matters
Above everything else, with all diligence, we must guard our heart - our soul, our mind, our emotions, and our decisions. The Bible clearly states that this is extremely important, and must be our highest priority.
The course of our life depends on the decisions we make. They are based on what we think or feel in the circumstances we face. If we wish to walk the good life that Jesus died for us to live, our decisions need to be in line with what is on His Heart and in line with His Word concerning that situation. We cannot afford to be distracted by alternatives that the world offers, like worry, drugs, even pleasure!
Anything that keeps us away from the Father and the good life He bought for us on the cross, must not occupy our thoughts and considerations.
We are where we are today, because of yesterday’s choices and decisions. We are also influenced by the company we keep, and whatever we give our quality time to.
A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart (Luke 6:45a NIV). Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful (Joshua 1:8 NIV).
Our words and actions are a reflection of the state of our hearts. A well-guarded heart loves, rests, laughs, speaks life, and fulfils the Father’s will, enjoying righteousness, peace and joy in the Spirit.
Prayer
Father God, help me to guard my heart with all diligence and meditate on Your Word alone. I refuse to be distracted or swayed by the things of this world and I choose to rest in You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

About this Plan
It is our prayer that it will reveal to those who don’t know Jesus Christ, that there is a Creator and Maker of this universe, the only loving and powerful God who longs for a personal relationship with every human being. We pray that these daily readings will remind us all of the great hope and abundant joy in knowing Jesus Christ, through whom we have eternal life!
