Get Ready!
Noah was instructed by God to build the ark. In obedience, Noah and his family kept themselves busy with this task, even though they did not know the exact hour God would send the flood. Ultimately, they were the only ones saved from the floods. Others who were busy in worldly activities and ridiculed them for building an ark were destroyed!
God warns us that in the end times too, we can get caught up with the cares of this world. In Matthew 24, Jesus describes the normal activities of life like eating, drinking, marrying and giving in marriage. These activities are not evil; they are a necessary part of life. However, focusing on these activities can prove dangerous and we may miss the signs, the evidence, which prove the imminence of Christ’s return!
Now think of a house where preparations are on for the daughter’s wedding. The whole household is occupied and the bride-to-be is focused only on her bridegroom and her future spent with him. Nothing can distract her. In the same way, if we think about our Bridegroom, Jesus, and the costly price He has paid to redeem us, our focus will shift from the world to Him. The more we soak in His love, the more we will be love-struck! Then, nothing else will matter to us. We will start getting ready the way our Bridegroom wants us to.
Spiritual indifference, caused by giving attention to the wrong things rather than the interests of the Lord, is a subtle form of idolatry. Setting aside those responsibilities to which we have been called, we favor activities, interests and cares of the world. Let us stop and get our spiritual priorities right. Get ready, for our Bridegroom is coming soon!
Prayer
Lord Jesus, help me not to get caught up in the cares of this world but focus on what is eternal. I know that You are coming soon. Help me to be ready. Amen.

About this Plan
It is our prayer that it will reveal to those who don’t know Jesus Christ, that there is a Creator and Maker of this universe, the only loving and powerful God who longs for a personal relationship with every human being. We pray that these daily readings will remind us all of the great hope and abundant joy in knowing Jesus Christ, through whom we have eternal life!
