You Are Forgiven!

Can you imagine a cabinet filled with files of all the wrong things you have ever done? With details of your sinful past and your shortcomings? Sounds terrible, doesn’t it? The amazing thing about our God is that though He sees everything - The eyes of the LORD are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good (Proverbs 15:3 NIV) - He doesn’t keep a record of our sins!
When we sin and we know that we have done wrong, it causes us to feel guilty. This emotion is so overwhelming that it can prevent us from serving God wholeheartedly. Imagine praising and worshipping such a holy God with knowledge of your wrong doings! But one of the most beautiful things about Him is that He is the God of forgiveness. The Message translation of Psalm 130:4a says, ‘As it turns out, forgiveness is your habit.’
God is in the habit of forgiving His people! He sent His perfect and spotless Son Jesus to die for your sins and sicknesses on the cross, that you might experience this forgiveness. He wants to pour out His mercy and grace upon you and He certainly does not want to remember your sins anymore (Hebrews 8:12).
If our mighty, powerful God would rather not bring our sin to remembrance, why should we? If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9 NIV). Once we confess our sins and repent, He cleanses us and makes us new again. Nothing then, including the guilt or knowledge of our past, should stop us from serving Him with our entire beings. He has set you free!

Prayer
Father, I know that there is no reason for me to feel guilty about any sins I have committed because You have forgiven me. Your grace is enough for me! I thank You and I praise You for this. Amen.
