Precious Wisdom
When Solomon succeeded his father David as King, he showed his love for the Lord by walking according to His statutes. The Lord was pleased with King Solomon and appeared to him in a dream, asking him what he desired. Solomon could have taken advantage of this opportunity and asked for riches and fame. Instead, he asked the Lord for wisdom. The Lord not only granted Solomon wisdom but also riches and honor, such that in his lifetime none of the kings were his equal.
Wisdom is more precious than gold, silver, pearls or any other riches that we may possess. Wisdom enables you to move in the right direction. When we ask God for wisdom, He is generous and gives us more than we can ask or imagine. Whenever I have leaned on the Lord for wisdom, He has guided me to do what was right and pleasing in His eyes. God’s wisdom gives you the confidence to speak the right words, be sensible and have insight, which translates into making the right decisions. We have wonderful examples in the Bible, like Queen Esther, who used her God-given wisdom to save the Jews from annihilation. Joseph leaned on God’s wisdom to provide for his people during the time of famine.
Today, leaders in various nations may possess knowledge and strategies but lack wisdom. Wisdom is the ability to see people, events and situations as God sees them. Let us lean on the Lord for wisdom in every area of our lives.
Prayer
Lord, give us a wise and discerning heart, to see the lost souls as You see them and to bring them to the knowledge of Your glory. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

It is our prayer that it will reveal to those who don’t know Jesus Christ, that there is a Creator and Maker of this universe, the only loving and powerful God who longs for a personal relationship with every human being. We pray that these daily readings will remind us all of the great hope and abundant joy in knowing Jesus Christ, through whom we have eternal life!
