Precious Moments That Count For Eternity

DAY 120 OF 366

The Joy of Forgetting Pain

Joseph went through great hardships in his father’s house. His brothers sold him into slavery because of jealousy. He escaped one trouble after another, till he became one of Pharaoh’s most trusted and favored men in Egypt.
Trouble and affliction were a part of Joseph’s life for 22 years. (He saw dreams of his brothers bowing down before him when he was 17 years; he was placed in authority at the age of 30, and nine years later, his brothers bowed down to him.) It must have caused him deep pain to name his sons Manasseh and Ephraim.
I believe only Jesus, the Savior of this earth, can make us truly forget our past pains. I’ve seen documentaries of prostitutes who left their trade and turned to Jesus in Russia and Eastern Europe. They started their lives on a clean slate. They share the miracles in their lives, of how they’ve totally blanked and wiped out their old life, sexual atrocities and the physical pain they went through before accepting Jesus.
When my father passed away, I was in quite a state of depression because of the pain his death had caused me. When Jesus delivered me (10 months later), I still missed him. But the pain of his death and the manner in which I had lost him, had left me. I was healed of the trauma just like the meaning of ‘Manasseh,’ which is ‘God has made me forget all my past pains and troubles’.
Joseph thrived in the same land where he was sold as a slave. ‘Ephraim’ means ‘God made him flourish in the same place’. The land that had caused him pain and hurt, in turn had prospered him and he was successful and fruitful there.

Declaration
I am more than a conqueror through my Lord, Jesus Christ, who loves me and is always there for me.

About this Plan

Precious Moments That Count For Eternity

It is our prayer that it will reveal to those who don’t know Jesus Christ, that there is a Creator and Maker of this universe, the only loving and powerful God who longs for a personal relationship with every human being. We pray that these daily readings will remind us all of the great hope and abundant joy in knowing Jesus Christ, through whom we have eternal life!
