God’s Greatness
God is not manlike, not even superman-like. He clearly states that He is wholly “other” from us—on another plane entirely. And though that should humble us, He doesn’t say it to humiliate us. Nor does He declare His exceeding difference from us to make us grovel before His throne. But we must see something of these dimensions of His greatness to fully appreciate the investment He makes in visiting us. Here is the Eternal One planning to give us time; the Omniscient One preparing to confine Himself to one place; and the Omniscient One who, knowing all things, still comes to learn of life on the terms of His own creation.
