Praise In the Presence of GodSample
Read the Word
We cannot live the Word, apply the Word, or pray the Word if we do not first read the Word. And our capacity to apply the word effectively will be equal to our willingness to wait long enough in the Word for the Holy Spirit to enlighten our minds in its promises.
So take God’s Word today and make it a primary part of your praying. You might pray what John Calvin often prayed before reading God’s Word:
Heavenly Father, in whom is the fullness of light and wisdom, enlighten my mind by Your Holy Spirit, and give me grace to receive Your Word with reverence and humility.

About this Plan
Pastor Jack Hayford points the way to the life-changing pathway of praise. No matter how you feel, praise will shape what your experiences will become. When doubts come, praise God that His Word will never fail you. When fears taunt, praise God that His presence never leaves you. When questions arise, praise God that His wisdom holds every answer. Praise leads you to the One who assures peace beyond strife, hope beyond trial, joy beyond sorrow, and life beyond all.
