Praise In the Presence of GodSample
Praise in Pain
The book of Psalms is a praise book for all seasons: when we rejoice in the Lord and exult over His providential care, and when our souls nearly burst with pain in times of darkness.
What can we do when life seems hard, defeating, unfulfilling, and aimless? Well, we can be honest in our prayers, as the psalmist was. We can cry to God, “Return, O Lord! How long? And have compassion on Your servants.”
The writer isn’t crying out in dark unbelief, but in the light of hope. In short, he is worshiping. The fact his heart isn’t overflowing with blessing or abundance is no hindrance to his worship. It is all the more reason to seek solace and refuge in God.

About this Plan
Pastor Jack Hayford points the way to the life-changing pathway of praise. No matter how you feel, praise will shape what your experiences will become. When doubts come, praise God that His Word will never fail you. When fears taunt, praise God that His presence never leaves you. When questions arise, praise God that His wisdom holds every answer. Praise leads you to the One who assures peace beyond strife, hope beyond trial, joy beyond sorrow, and life beyond all.
