In the Fast Lane: Psalm 46Sample
Psalm 46:10-11
New International Version
10
He says, "Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth."
11
The Lord Almighty is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress.
Today we are going to take the next part of the verse - 'know that I am God.'
From this place of stillness - KNOW that He is God!
This word 'know' means to:
- perceive
- find out
- discern
- recognise
BE CERTAIN!
He IS God! How Great, mighty and awesome is our God?
There is nothing beyond Him, nothing that fazes Him.
No matter what I am facing or will face, He is more than enough.
On the second day of our fast together, we have the opportunity to ask ourselves the question: 'How deep does God go in my life?'
Do I know? Know that I know...deeply and undeniably know that He is God?
We all have seasons when that might not be an easy question to answer if we are being honest, but God is not God because we feel it! He is God anyway. Our feelings may shift and change, but He doesn't.
Taking days like we are doing today is an opportunity to recalibrate and make sure that we are putting God in His rightful place at the centre of our lives.
In truth, this is not a one-off thing because our tendency is to get out of shape in this area. But with the help of the Holy Spirit and taking the time to be still, we are gently brought back into alignment with the One whose love for us knows no bounds.
Know that He is God today! Allow that knowledge to flood your soul with confidence that in spite of everything...it is well!
