Every morning we experience a miracle. In the darkness, all things are hidden from sight. Cold and shrouded in mystery, we are surrounded by the unknown. But then, the sun rises! Our vision clears! Light warms us and reveals what was hidden. Our surroundings become colorful and fresh. Anything dangerous is immediately recognizable. Nothing can hide from the rising sun. And, so, it is with Jesus. There is no place in the world too dark to be transformed by Jesus’ bright light.

What was your darkest moment? Before you met Jesus, darkness may have felt comfortable. Were you shocked at how much brighter life became when you met Christ? Or, perhaps your life appeared shiny and clean on the outside, but inwardly you were spiraling into gloom.

Maybe your darkest moment is painful and upsetting to think about. You know, the very thing that caused you so much suffering could become the story that helps others see the light of Jesus. God did not desire your suffering, but He does desire to redeem it. That part of His plan doesn’t end with you. Your story of redemption can light the path toward a hope for people trapped in deep darkness.

Throughout history, God has met people in their darkest hour, their time of deepest need. He changes broken lives into demonstrations of His amazing love. He’s still doing it today, and He’s done it for you. Whether your encounter with Jesus was like a dramatic escape or like the gentle dawning of a new morning, your story matters and needs to be told.
