DAY 260 OF 365

Faith These words of our Lord follow the Savior’s cursing the fig tree, indicating a passion in prayer and faith that we need to learn. When the disciples later noticed with surprise that the tree had withered (v. 20), Jesus responded with a sharp command, “Have faith in God.” Then, calling His followers to “speak to the mountains,” He led them to prepare for situations in which they would find it necessary to take direct authority in the spiritual realm to impact things in the natural realm. The issue of faith is never founded on our ability to “move the mountain,” but faith in the Mountain maker. Visualizing a victory or working up a “feeling” of faith is a pathetic human attempt to get something to happen. Real faith lays hold of the Faith-giver (Eph. 2:8), who holds all power for every need, and trusts Him to answer our prayer as He promised He would do. As faith-challenging situations rise, turn to the Lord. He is waiting for you to call upon Him.
