Jesus’ Prayer The eternal struggle is lived out everyday in our hearts, families, and places of service. There is no surprise in our being opposed by the adversary. Never are the words of our Savior more welcome, “I have prayed for you.” The heavenly Intercessor, our Creator and Redeemer, declares that He has seen the plan of the adversary for our demise, and He is mounting a counter-assault in our behalf to break the power of the enemy. Having vanquished the devil at Calvary, Jesus welcomes the opportunity to defeat him again in the battleground of our lives. Despite the temporary incursions into our character, where compromise can creep in almost unnoticed; in our relationships, which bear the bruises of not just human misunderstanding but outright demonic attack; and in our sin, driven by pride and fear, still our faith in Christ will not fail.
