One Community
Here the unity or the human race is clearly stated, for through Adam and Eve (Gen. 3:20), and then through the sons of Noah (Gen. 9:19), all races and nationalities of men came forth. Humankind is a universal family. “Have we not all one Father? Has not one God created us?” (Mal. 2:10). We live in a single world community. No face, nation, or individual has the right to look down on or disassociate itself from another.
The Apostle Peter said, “God has shown me that I should not call any man common or unclean.… In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him” (Acts 10:28, 34, 35). There are only two divisions of humankind: the saved and the unsaved. Other differences are merely skin deep or culturally flavored.
Today, let us not be guilty of Cain’s cry, “Am I my brother’s keeper?” The answer to the question is “yes” and it requires our reaching out to the world.
