DAY 15 OF 365

Truth That Frees We often expect freedom to come to us with little effort on our part. We function as though our initial birth into God’s family is the only step we need take to see all of His inheritance realized in our lives. But this text clearly states that it is through knowing the truth that freedom is born. That places the requirement on us to constantly seek to know more of God’s truth as found in His Word. The Greek word used here for “know” literally means to perceive, understand, recognize, gain knowledge, realize, or come to know. It implies a knowledge that has an inception, a progress, and an attainment. We can know the truth of God intellectually without ever applying it to our lives, but the knowledge spoken of here is the recognition of truth by personal experience. What areas of our lives need to be freed? The Word of God has an answer for us. As we tap into this resource, and apply it to our lives, the Lord will bring us into freedom.
