DAY 105 OF 365

Touch the Lord Here simple, positive faith draws upon the matchless mercy of Jesus. At once Jesus responds to the sick woman’s faith with the question, “Who touched Me?” The disciples wondered at the question because Jesus was being thronged by crowding multitudes. Yet, Jesus’ question demonstrated that there is a difference between merely thronging Him and touching Him with faith to receive. The woman’s touch was one of desperation. Years of trying remedy after remedy had failed. Her disease made her ceremonially unclean, unable to participate in worship; she was violating Mosaic law by even being in a crowd. Her touch was also a touch of faith. She said, “If only I may touch His garment, I shall be made well” (Matt. 9:21). We should not wait until we are desperate to go to Jesus; He has promised to answer faith. Finally, her touch was a touch of becoming. Jesus said, “Somebody touched Me,” and went on to call her “Daughter.” When you come to Jesus you become somebody: you become a child of God (1 John 3:1, 2). Learn more at www.jackhayford.org
