A Fruitful LifeSample
Being faithful starts by taking one small step.
But taking a true step of faith, however, can be scary.
You’re handing the keys to your life over to a God that you cannot yet see with your physical eyes. Based on some unique combination of hearing the gospel and experiencing God, you chose to trust Him without knowing what might happen next.
The saying that God works in mysterious ways rings true, and when it comes to taking a step in faith, we don’t want any mystery! We need to know, we need to understand, and we cannot possibly know and understand the inner workings of God.
That is scary.
Because faith requires us to relinquish control. It forces us to let go of the steering wheel, and not hover our hands over it.
We have to trust in the Lord enough to say, “I’m letting go, please guide me to my destination.”
The good news is that He always does, but the scary news is that it may lead to twists and turns along the way.
What does walk by faith not by sight mean? Have you ever questioned your faith? How do you trust God in difficult times?
It is based on the Faithfulness of God.
It is the confidence and trust in God that is needed to acquire the things we long for but don’t yet see. Faith invited God in to work on our behalf. Even though we may not see God working right now, we trust and believe that He is preparing us for blessings and relief from what we are facing somewhere down the road.
Here are 7 characteristics of faith when considering God’s Faithfulness:
· Faith is grace, a supernatural gift of God
· Faith is certain
· Faith seeks understanding
· Faith isn’t opposed to science
· Faith is necessary for salvation
· Grace enables faith
· Faith is the beginning of eternal life
Your waiting is not in vain; God is at work. The One who gave you dreams will be the One to make them come true. Sometimes God makes us wait, so that He will be glorified by the good that comes. We cannot become so discouraged in the delays that we give up on the pursuit of our purpose.
Keep the faith. I know it is hard, but God is faithful!
And embrace the blessings that will follow, because our God is a God of Faithfulness!
