Dog Days and His Ways

DAY 11 OF 11

Abundant Provision

Isn’t it amazing that just by being with you, your dog has all it needs. You offer them abundant provision, protection, safety, sustenance, and so much more. Each day, your very presence helps them to thrive and survive. They look to you for every meal, for each sip of water and for their place of rest. You are the one constant in their life that meets their every need.

Sometimes it seems our dog knows us better than some people do. Dogs have a special way of comforting us when we are sad or sick and are always, always happy to see us. It’s refreshing to see how dogs live in present and are ever blessed by our presence. Dogs are one of God’s greatest gifts.

I’ve always had a dog in my life. I’m thankful I grew up with dogs and have learned countless life lessons from these loyal companions. As I have cared for dogs throughout many years, I’ve been reminded how much my relationship with them mirrors the love of the Father. He meets my every need. He’s my Creator, My King and My Friend. He is my Provider, my Defender and My Savior.

He’s all this for you, too. May He direct your life. I pray you come to the Father every day. May you walk with Him, talk with Him and listen as you wait for His direction. As you lie down and rest, may you know He’s with you. As you work with and enjoy life with your dog, may you be reminded of just how much you are loved. As you provide for your dog, may you see your Heavenly Father’s provision in your life. As you complete this plan, I pray you continue to live a fulfilling life with your furry friend.

Father, thank You for providing for all my needs. As I provide for my dog, help me to remember that Your provision is abundant, gracious and is ever-present in eternity. Help me to follow Your ways in all the sits and stays.

Day 10

About this Plan

Dog Days and His Ways

In Dog Days & His Ways, author Charlotte Guest shares how familiar commands like “sit, stay” and a few others used with our furry friends can be special lessons learned and often are needed in our own life. Through this 11-day reading plan, you’ll be encouraged to draw closer to Christ, to lean into Him and see how our “dog days” mirror His ways. As you “paws” together, you’ll enjoy scriptures that will bless and encourage you each day. “Sit” with your dog; “stay” a while and enjoy meaningful moments together with the One who created both of you.
