Sharing God's Gift

Imagine that you are standing in a dark cave. You can't even see your hand in front of your face. All around, you hear the voices of other people who are in the dark like you are. You feel something in your pocket. You reach in, and it feels like... yes! A flashlight! Do you stumble around until you are far enough away from everyone that no one will see your light? Of course not! You turn the light on right there and share it with everyone.

God did not want to keep the gift of Jesus quiet. After all, Jesus is the light of the world, a gift for everyone. This is why in the video we see angels all around singing praises to God. This is why shepherds and wise men traveled to a manger. Everyone wanted to see the newborn King.

When you receive a gift you love, you don't want to keep it to yourself. You want to share the gift with anyone who will pay attention. At Christmas, and every day of the year, we should tell others about the wonderful gift of Jesus, given to us all.

God, thank you so much for the gift of Jesus. Help me to share this gift with everyone I meet. Amen.
